NO SCHOOL – Monday, September 6. Labor Day.

Location Change – Education Sabbath: Education Sabbath, which was scheduled to be at EPAA, is now going to be at EPSDA Church on Sept. 25 from 10am-12pm. There will be potluck afterwards at EPAA in the gymnasium.

Lunch Punch Cards: These $20 cards are available to purchase as needed. There are

two options of cards to purchase – one intended to be used for lunches and one for frozen fruit treats. We encourage you to purchase and use these cards to purchase lunches because we will no longer be allowing students to be billed for lunches on their school accounts. Cash will also be accepted as payment for lunches if the student does not have a punch card.

Magazine Fundraiser: Our magazine fundraiser has begun, and your children are probably talking about the ducks, which are a prize for bringing in orders. The turn-in dates are: today, Wednesday -Sept. 8, and Friday - Sept. 10. This year we are using a company called Great American Opportunities. You can either use the order forms the students have or purchase the magazines online at www.store.gafundraising.com and use our school ID 205609.

This is one of our major fundraisers for technology upgrades. Last year, we were able to use fundraised money from this fundraiser and other fundraisers to buy Smartboards for all the classrooms except PreK. This year we would like to be able to get a Smartboard for PreK and then focus on getting some new computers for the classrooms. Technology is a continually changing market and requires continual planning and systematic replacement of outdated materials.

Dean Johnson Music Studio: We want to encourage all parents in grades 5-10 to consider having your children take private music lessons – instrumental or vocal. Dean Johnson Music Studio is working with us to provide teachers to come to the school to teach these lessons. We have not finished negotiations, but we need to know how many parents are interested to know how to plan. Lessons will be approximately $20 per 30 minute lesson. We will be planning events during the year to help raise money to help with that cost for the families if possible.

Fundraisers: Don’t forget to bring us your Box-Tops, Campbell’s labels, and Worthington UPCs to help raise funds for our school.
